How you respond or do not respond; will have an outcome- You choose.
I remember as a child, my grandfather would take me to the park in the summer. We would walk the trails and come to a fork in the road. He would ask me to choose the path. I did not know which direction to go. He explained either direction would have a unique adventure. I found that one path took me along tranquil waters of the lake with less foliage and more sunlight with flat roads. The other path was filled with more tree cover with a less paved path and was full of hills and valleys. Both allowed me to spend time walking with my grandfather, but of course, one was an easier course, with fewer pitfalls.
This is the same take I think about when dealing with challenging situations in schools or a challenging teacher conference. As an administrator, you have a decision to make. Do you respond, ignore, or delay? Whatever the decision is, there will be an outcome. How and when will you choose to address the situation? Choose a path, stay committed to the path, and prepare to reap the results. Reach out to me if you have specific questions.
I look forward to chatting with you. Email me at drkorriewhite@gmail.com if you would like to have a coaching conversation.
